A Cashier's Salary in 1956
 
The monthly payslips of a Cashier,

This male member of staff was based at Newtown Row branch
at the beginning of the year, but then worked on relief at
Head Office; Harborne; Longbridge; Northfield; Spring Hill;
Weoley Castle; Bearwood; and Hockley branches

The standard payslip is replaced in April when an additional payment is made in respect of the amount of overtime worked over the Annual Balance at the previous March 31st.
 
Deductions from the monthly salary consist of:
 - statuary (Income Tax; National Insurance);
 - compulsory (Superannuation);
 - voluntary (Widows & Orphans; Medical Benefits; Life Assurance;
