Branch Managers - 1949
 
At the Bank Committee's meeting held on
January 17th 1949
the General Manager's recommendations for
promotions to Branch Manager vacancies and
annual increases in salaries under the
National Joint Council Scheme were agreed.
 
Branch Managers at that date were divided into three categories:
First Class (APT Division 7)
Second Class (APT Division 6)
Third Class (APT Division 5)
 
APT (Administrative, Professional & Technical) being the designated pay grades.
 
The officers promoted were as follows:

 Bayliss, H J T  Aged 42, Engaged 1923; Appointed Branch Manager 1932

The General Manager's report stated that all four "are promising officers. Their services and conduct have been entirely  satisfactory and they are Certificated Associates of the Institute of Bankers".
 
The report listed the Bank's Branch Managers by grade, quoting their salaries as at April 1st 1949.

The General Manager's report stated that all three had rendered excellent service as Branch Managers and that they were Certificated Associates of the Institute of Bankers.

Not listed in the three Grades (APT 5 to APT 7) were the Manager of the Bournville Works branch (appointed by Cadbury Brothers) and the officer in charge of the Head Office branch (J W Raftery) who was designated as Superintendent of Head Office Savings Bank Department.
