Annual Reports - 1924
Both the Published Report and the Council Report duplicate the themes shown in previous years. Total deposits
now amount to £4.2 million and the Bank's Reserve Fund stands at £58,808. The Council Report provides considerable detail regarding proposed
branch premises at Saltley, Witton, and Acocks Green. The General Manager's Report to the General Purposes Sub-Committee is very lengthy
and detailed, particularly in relation to staff matters. There is reference to a defalcation at Duddeston branch - later known
as The Crump Affair. It appears that the system for collecting the payment of Rates (for the Overseers) is still not
operating efficiently.
