Miss Marion McLean
On the 29th September, Miss Marion McLean retired from the Bank after more than 37 years' service.
Although all those years were spent
in the House Purchase department, Marion was well known to most of the Staff. Her lively personality coupled with a strong sense of
humour, and her sincere interest in the welfare of her colleagues - those who have left as well as those with whom he worked - won
for her many friends.
Her interest in her work was equally keen - it was Marion who first introduced me, many years ago, under the
guidance of Mr. A. S. Taylor, to the intricacies of the House Purchase Department, and it was from her that I learned the duties of
a typist in that Department. Her friendly help and advice made those early days something to recall with pleasure.
Now that the time
has come for her to enjoy a little more leisure, she takes with her the good wishes of all her friends and colleagues for a long and
happy retirement, with good health to pursue her many interests and hobbies.
