Annual Reports - 1920
The first report of the Bank's Committee of Management covered the seven-month period from September 1st
1919 to March 31st 1920. The main theme is the satisfaction of the Committee in being able to report a satisfactory start to the Bank's
existence both in terms of funds deposited but also in the number of applications for House Purchase loans. The Committee's Report
contains two main sections: Savings Bank Department and House Purchase Department; the term 'Savings Bank Department' reflects terms
used in the Bank's 1919 Regulations - later, the department was referred to as the 'Depositors' Department'. A cause of concern to
the Committee is the difficulty in finding suitable premises in which to establish branches. The back cover of the published
report features the Bank's logo, recently introduced following a design competition
