Group & Branch Managers - 1974
 
A fundamental change was made to the management of the branch network in 1974 when the principle of designating some of the smaller branches as sub-branches was introduced. The first table below shows that the Group structure with 8 Group Managers (listed in bold) was retained. Except for the Head Office group, two Relief Branch Managers were allocated to each Group and the names of these officers are listed, at the bottom of the page, with the names of other principal branch management staff.
 
This structure did not last long, being replaced in 1976 when the BMB changed status to a TSB
