Annual Reports - 1964
An increase in deposit balances of £2,388,775 resulted in total balances of £91,234,473 at the year-end
- this was a new record, but the increase was mainly due to capitalised interest of £2,299,289. Turnover for the year exceeded £100-million
(£104,168,224), the figure boosted by the inclusion for the first time of Credit Transfers and Standing Orders (£3,301,500). Expenditure
on alterations to existing and new premises are reported, including the commencement of work towards the opening of permanent
offices at Shard End (opened September 11th 1964) and Kitts Green (opened July 23rd 1965) - two busy branches located in temporary
premises for several years.
