Annual Reports - 1960
Shortly prior to the Accounts for 1959/60 were published in July, the Bank's Regulations were amended.
As detailed in the reports, the amendments to Account Conditions abolished the annual limit on deposits, increased aggregate deposit limits,
and allowed withdrawals on demand up to £50. After three years in which Total Deposits have fallen, there is an increase of £2,232,605
taking the total in both Savings Departments to £84,161,954. As in some previous years, the Report states that " Advances on mortgage
.... have been made .... to the limit of funds available". Although no explanation is given as what that limit was, the amount advanced
during the year was just below £1 million.
