Few statistics are detailed in the truncated Published Report, but comprehensive figures are provided in the report to the Council (made on D-Day). Total deposits increased over the year from 50.8 million to 59.5 million, thus continuing the wartime theme of producing a new record increase each year. By March 31st 1944, over 29 million had been contributed by the Bank's customers to the War Finance Campaign, encouraged by various publicity schemes such as 'Wings for Victory' and 'Salute the Soldier Week'.
