CONTACT - Autumn 1964:


The weather has interfered with two of the matches played so far this season. Here are the results of matches played to date:-

v PO Telephones .. Lost 3˝ - 1˝

v Water Dept .. Won 2 - 1

v Public Health .. Cancelled owing to rain

v Lloyds Bank .. Lost 3˝ - 1˝

v City Transport .. Won 2 - 0 (Three matches not finished owing to rain.)

v Public Works .. Won 4 - 0


The Guild Trophy was played at North Worcester this year but without success. The Annual Medal has been arranged for Sunday, September 27th at the Wrekin Golf Club, more news of this event next time. Anyone wishing to join the Society should contact me at Selly Oak Branch. Any newcomers will be very welcome.

CONTACT - Spring 1965:

The Twelfth Annual Dinner was held at Kings Norton Golf Club in conjunction with the Cricket Club on February 16th. A most enjoyable evening was had by all who participated.


The fixture list to date for 1965 is as follows:-

Tuesday June 1st v Public Health Dept (Kings Norton)

Tuesday June 15th v Water Dept (North Worcs.)

Thursday August 5th v Public Works (Handsworth)

Tuesday September 7th v PO Telephones (Kings Norton)

This year's Golfing fixtures have been marred by the weather to some extent. The results are as follows:-

Lloyds Bank .. Drew .. 3-3

GPO Services .. Lost .. 2-4

Public Health .. Lost .. 2-3

Water Dept .. Winning 3-0 after 9 holes - match abandoned

City Transport .. postponed

Public Works .. Won .. 3-2

GPO Services .. Lost .. 2-3


The Bank Team came third in the Guild Trophy which was played at North Worcester Golf Course.


The Golf Outing took place on the 19th September at the Wrekin Golf Course. We must have ordered the weather, for it was the most glorious day. Mr H G Payne won the medal with a net 66. An enjoyable day was had by all who took part. (Runner up was Mr J Duff with a net 74.)
