Walter Kennard Robottom

Tribute to W. K. Robottom

Walter Kennard Robottom, who died at the end of January, retired in April 1965 after 44˝-years' service. To J. P. he was Walter, to his friends he was Ken, and to everyone he was a Character. In dress he was distinctive with his bow ties and flamboyant suits; his speech was laced with slang and spiced with witticisms; his spare figure belied the power he displayed on the golf course. He had a zest for life and his breezy personality is greatly missed.

The funeral service was at Sutton Coldfield Crematorium and the great number of people attending, which included many present and past members of the Staff, testified to his popularity. To his wife, Marion, we extend our deepest sympathy.
