Retired Staff Association Magazine: April 1995
CHARLES HEDLEY MASSEY
"Eddie" died on 13th February 1995 at the age of 89. It was in 1921 that Eddie joined the staff of
the then recently formed Birmingham Municipal Bank and from the start he impressed everyone with his professional capability which
allied to his fairness and sense of humour, endeared him to all who knew him.
Over almost 50 years, broken only by war service
with the Army, Eddie progressed through all the "ranks" of the Bank until his appointment as Assistant General Manager in the 1960s,
retiring from that post in 1970.
At his cremation on 21st February a large number of friends and former colleagues joined with
his family in paying a final tribute to a great character.
